‘The muse is not an angelic voice that sits on your shoulder and sings sweetly. The muse is the most annoying whine. The muse isn’t hard to find, just hard to like – she follows you everywhere, tapping you on the shoulder, demanding that you stop doing whatever else you might be doing and pay attention to her.’ Harlan Coben

Style Files | Free People Has the Prettiest Dresses Right Now

If I would have to name my favourite online fashion destinations, Free People would be at the top of the list. Their dresses and jewellery are to die for, and go check out their lookbooks – it’s always so beautiful and inspiring!

Free People say that they create for a girl who is “smart, creative, confident and comfortable in all aspects of her being, free and adventurous, sweet to tough to tomboy to romantic. A girl who likes to keep busy and push life to its limits, with travelling and hanging out and everything in between.”

Are you like me and aspire to this image? Do you own anything from Free People?

Style Files | Scandi Uniform

The big Scandinavian style hype started sometime in the early 2015s and since then it became a wardrobe staple for many. I too admire the clean lines, minimal shapes and monochromatic colour palette of the “Scandi Uniform”. I like how versatile it is and how easy it is to glam it up with key accessories or statement shoes, can be dressed up or down for work or play.

Here are a few of my favourite Scandi looks that I came across on Pinterest

The black, navy, cream and grey items are mix-and-match heaven and absolute must have in my wardrobe. Each season I add a few key trend pieces, pop of colour and interesting details to make it more fun and me. This season I am obsessing the statement sleeve trend and starting to bring in more light colours for the warmer days, especially soft dusky pink (the bright fuschia is a little too strong for my taste). Currently, I’m on the lookout for a good camel/sand coloured trench coat, any suggestions?
